We're investing in the future of doctoral studies in the arts, humanities and law by offering a range of scholarships and bursaries to our doctoral researchers. At the College of Arts and Law, we reward excellence to support the best doctoral candidates to succeed.

Postgraduate research funding for 2026

Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) Landscape Awards
For Home students from a minoritised ethnic background, the AHRC Landscape Awards offer a stipend at the UKRI rate plus a tuition fee waiver.

College of Arts and Law Doctoral Scholarships
Fully-funded and partially-funded scholarships for doctoral research students studying in the College of Arts of Law in the 2026/27 academic year onwards.

Wolfson Postgraduate Scholarships in the Humanities
Fully-funded scholarships for doctoral research projects with a focus on History, Literature or Languages.

Stanley Ray Scholarship
£10,000 scholarship per year for a postgraduate research student studying on-campus in the College of Arts and Law.

Music Doctoral Scholarships
Scholarships of various values open to Home and International students studying a Music PhD.

Sir Henry Thomas Scholarship for postgraduate Hispanic Studies
Open to both Home and International students, the scholarship covers tuition fees at the Home fee level and offers a £15,000 stipend for three years.
