The Pensions Team administers the tax-efficient pension schemes operated by the University for its employees. They can answer most questions about your pension and give general information about the University’s pension arrangements (they are unable to offer financial advice).

Pension Schemes

USS Pension Scheme
Staff in Academic, Teaching, and Research (Grades 6 to 9, and Professorial) roles are typically enrolled in the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS).

GRP Pension Scheme
Staff in Professional Services (Grades 2 to 5) roles are typically contractually enrolled into the Group Retirement Pension (GRP) scheme.

NHS Pension Scheme
NHS Pension Scheme eligibility is limited to Academic & Support staff in the College of Medicine and Health, as well as members who have contributed to the NHS scheme 12 months before joining.

BPAS Pension Scheme
Eligible Support, Ancillary, and Technical Staff may fall under the BPAS Scheme. BPAS is now closed to new joiners but remains open to future accruals for existing members.
