Birmingham ranked tenth in the UK for Education

In the latest Complete University Guide 2021, programmes within the School of Education have been ranked tenth in the UK, moving up three places from last year.

In the latest Complete University Guide 2021, programmes within the School of Education have been ranked tenth in the UK, moving up three places from last year. 

Already ranked 5th in the Times and the Sunday Times Good University Guide 2020, 17th in the Guardian University League Tables, and 9th in the UK in the 2020 QS World Rankings, this latest ranking further reinforces the School’s outstanding reputation as a long-standing centre of excellence for both teaching and research.

The School of Education at Birmingham brings world-leading research into the classroom to help improve knowledge of and explore social justice and equality in education with a focus on educational leadership, racial injustice, disability and inclusion, and teaching character education in schools.

The Complete University Guide is a highly respected and cited online ranking of over 131 UK universities, plus 70 individual subject to help students compare courses at different universities. The University of Birmingham as a whole was ranked 13th out of 131 institutions surveyed, with 25 academic subjects ranked in the top 10.

The rankings are based on ten measures: Entry Standards, Student Satisfaction, Research Quality, Research Intensity, Graduate Prospects, Student-Staff Ratio, Spending on Academic Services, Spending on Student Facilities, Good Honours Degrees, and Completion.
