New consultancy launches from Birmingham’s Centre for Evidence & Implementation Science

CEIS Solutions will deliver an Annual Conference that will convene leading experts in Implementation Science.
The University of Birmingham has launched CEIS Solutions to provide world-leading expertise to clients in health, policy and heritage organisations that want to get evidence-based practices, interventions, policies, or innovations used effectively in real-world settings.
CEIS Solutions is the commercial arm for the Centre for Evidence and Implementation Science (CEIS) and uses the rigorous practice of Implementation Science, which bridges the gap between what we know works and what is actually done, by addressing factors that influence adoption and implementation, and sustain changes in practice.
It is co-founded by Professor Amy Grove, and Dr Arabella Scantlebury, two of the UK’s leading methodologists, and will provide project-based consultancy, training to build capacity in client organisations, and an Annual Conference to grow a community of practitioners throughout the UK.
Implementation Science arose as a discipline in healthcare. Although there is a growing demand for its expertise from other sectors, there is a shortage of people with advanced training in Implementation Science theories, frameworks, and evaluation methods, and the practical expertise required to apply them.
Since the Birmingham Centre for Evidence and Implementation Science opened in early 2025, we’ve seen an extraordinary demand for consultancy and training. This came from organisations and individuals in many sectors, including public health, social care, education, and public policy as well as business and industry. It was clear there was a need for bespoke services and training, and we set up CEIS Solutions to meet this need.
CEIS Solutions already has a broad portfolio of projects including medical diagnostics, public health, mental health and heritage organisations.
Both Professor Grove and Dr Scantlebury are speaking at the 2027 Implementation Science Conference, which will be held in Birmingham on Friday 27th January. It will include sessions on both theory and practice. Speakers will also show how Implementation Science has been used in research projects and share case studies on how it has helped bring innovation into everyday use.
Guest speakers at the Conference will include Professor Tracey Finch from the School of Healthcare and Nursing Sciences at Northumbria University, and Dr Carlos Sillero Rejon from Health Economics Bristol at Bristol Medical School. The programme will also provide opportunities to network with other delegates, build valuable connections, and expand professional networks.
