Birmingham Law School is pleased to offer two Doctoral Scholarships for full- and part-time research students beginning in September 2019.
The scholarships are open to candidates interested in pursuing postgraduate research in any of the disciplines and fields covered by Birmingham Law School. Applicants should be able to demonstrate a track record of excellence in their field and be able to meet the normal entry requirements for the University of Birmingham’s Law PhD programmes. No teaching experience is necessary, but teaching experience may be available to the award holder.

Value of Award
These awards cover tuition fees for up to three years full-time, or six years part-time. Scholarships will only cover tuition fees paid at the Home/EU rate.
International students are also eligible to apply, and will receive a contribution towards tuition fees equivalent to the Home/EU rate if successful.
The awards also include £11,000 support per year towards living expenses for full-time applicants, adjusted pro-rata for part-time applicants.
These awards are open to UK, EU and Overseas students, studying full-time or part-time campus-based doctoral research in Birmingham Law School.
Applications for funding can only be considered alongside an application to study.
Applications are also open to current students (although you would need to have at least 12 months of study (or part-time equivalent) in normal registration remaining at the start of the award (excluding thesis awaited/writing-up).
