Since 1983 the Foundation, created by the British Chamber of Commerce in Germany (BCCG), offers scholarships to British and German students who plan to study in the other’s country. The BCCG Foundation is a charity registered in Germany. Since the formation in Germany in 1983 the Foundation has been providing financial support and partial scholarships to young British and German nationals for study or research in the Federal Republic of Germany or the United Kingdom respectively. In this way it seeks to promote understanding between the peoples and the furtherance of cultural relations between the two countries.
Value of Award
Successful candidates will receive a BCCG Foundation Scholarship Award in the form of a one-off payment (value varies). The award is intended to provide supplementary financial support, not to defray the full cost of the proposed course of study or research. Payment is subject both to acceptance by the institution at which they study and evidence that the course or research activity has been started.
Citizens of the UK must have completed a Bachelors degree. They are eligible to apply for an award if they are undertaking full-time Masters course in their home country and intending to take a semester abroad in Germany. Preferential assessment is given to students who intend to study abroad for the first time. The age limit for applicants is 26 years, though applications from students up to 30 years of age will be considered in exceptional cases.
Only applications with reference to the study of law, economic sciences and engineering will be accepted.
How to Apply
The next application period for 2019/2020 will start on 1 May 2019 and close on 30 June 2019. Applications sent before or thereafter will not be considered.
Applications are made via the application form that can be found on the charity's website.
