Award Description

The School of Mathematics is keen to attract well-motivated and able students to engage in research mathematics and invite applications for scholarships from those students who have applied for a place on the Mathematics PhD programme. The awards are funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).

Value of Award

These scholarships cover all tuition fees and a maintenance allowance of approximately £14,777 (2018/19).

Eligibility Criteria

The scholarships are currently available to UK/EU students studying a Mathematics course at postgraduate research level.

How to Apply

If you wish to be considered for a scholarship, please indicate this when asked 'how do you intend to fund your studies?' on the application form.

Deadline for applications falls at 12:00 on:

   Friday1 December

   Last day of January

   Friday 2 March

Later scholarship applications may be considered subject to available funding. While applicants are encouraged to apply as early as possible, the bulk of scholarships will not be allocated until after the 31 January deadline.

Applicants are encouraged to make contact with individual members of staff to find out further information about particular research areas.
