The Medical and Dental School’s Global Health Research Network is led by Dr Rachel Jordan and a core team that includes Professor of Global Health, Justine Davies, management support from Dr Alex Enocson, and research support from Dr Georgina Drury and Dr Holly Smith. The Network was developed to promote, develop and support Global Health Research, across disciplines.

Specific objectives are:

  • To increase the global health research portfolio across the College through successful grants
  • To increase awareness of Global Health Research opportunities
  • To better prepare for applications to Global Health Research funding opportunities
  • To involve academics with a current Global Health portfolio
  • To encourage and enable those with a UK track record to become involved with Global Health Research
  • To foster an environment of cross-Institute collaboration
  • To facilitate cross-College collaborations and involvement in the new Institute of Global Innovation

Our activities include quarterly networking lunches, seminars, specific workshops, forum for project managers, internal and external speakers, “pitches to peers”, peer mentoring, engagement through mailing list and reach to other colleges, and advice about grant development and set-up. We aim to work closely with other Institutes and Colleges across the University engaged in international work. Details of meetings and events are found here.
