Participating Centres

Regional paediatric renal units at twelve NHS trusts across the UK will participate in the ECUSTEC trial.

Patients with STEC HUS usually present to district hospitals (or the general paediatric department at regional centres) and are discussed with the regional paediatric renal unit. Twelve regional paediatric renal units at Trusts across the UK have agreed to participate in the trial and promote it within their regional networks, encouraging early referral for consideration for participation in the trial.  Referring district hospitals will be designated as Patient Identification Centres (PIC) where possible, and potentially eligible participants will be identified either at the PIC or upon referral to the renal unit.
