UK Collaboratorium for Research on Infrastructure and Cities
Through investment, the UK Collaboratorium for Research on Infrastructure and Cities' National Buried Infrastructure Facility aims to significantly enhance its Transient Railway Aerodynamics rig.

The Transient Aerodynamic Investigation (TRAIN) rig is a purpose built facility for measuring the aerodynamics of scale moving model vehicles allowing flexibility in conducting a range of experiments.

The Birmingham tornado generator is a large scale facility in which tornado-like winds can be generated.
Wind tunnel
The Birmingham wind tunnel can generate approximately uniform flows or simulate the turbulence and velocity profiles of an atmospheric boundary layer (ABL).
