Energy Informatics Group

The transition to a net-zero economy will be slower and costlier without the right kind of energy data. There are considerable opportunities and challenges presented by the changes expected in the use of data in the energy sector throughout the world.

The Energy Informatics Group, led by Dr Grant Wilson, provides research, tools and support for this emerging field. Public communication of energy data is an important subset of Energy Data Analytics in order to involve wider publics in the debate around the energy transition; the group is also active in this area.

The group has developed expertise in multi-vector datasets and are open to help organisations define and develop strategies to derive greater value from their own data. The Energy Data Informatics Group can host and analyse highly confidential datasets on on our secure servers, and provide guidance and insights on error detection and imputation.
