Our research group aims to develop new measurements for industrial applications towards the monitoring of a process in term of control and quality.
Advanced Measurements for Industrial Application (AMFIA) is the research group led by Dr Federico Alberini, that aims to provide such solutions; bearing also in mind the affordability of developed technologies for small and medium sized businesses.
Smart and sustainable manufacturing processes across the chemical-pharmaceutical as well as the agri-food sector are one of the big challenges for modern 21st century production systems. Industry 4.0 demands to establish non-invasive, non-destructive, hygienic and often Big Data driven solutions that will help to solve big issues around process monitoring, quality control and waste.
We are situated in the School of Chemical Engineering at the University of Birmingham, a world-leading institution and ranked in the top tier for chemical engineering. Our capabilities include formulation development, process monitoring device development and scale-up, employing state-of-the-art techniques.
