Heritage in the Post Truth World with Loyd Grossman

The annual Ironbridge Lecture is organised by the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust and the Ironbridge International Institute for Cultural Heritage (IIICH). As part of the Trust’s 50th anniversary celebrations the lecture, being held in the Engine Shop at Enginuity, will be given by Loyd Grossman, Chairman of the Heritage Alliance.

The lecture will explore how the seismic political events of recent years are, in part, the result of meta-trends like globalisation, digital expressions of mass opinion and a disdain for elite expertise. These same trends will significantly change how we define and care for our heritage.

In this talk Loyd will look at changing concepts of heritage and how our sector can respond to these new challenges.

Doors open at 6.30pm and the lecture will start at 7pm.

Tickets are free of charge but must be booked in advance. Please follow the appropriate link below to book your place:
