Thursday 28 April 2022 (13:00-14:00)

This month The Salon is centred on the theme of 'representations' and mental health.

We are delighted to welcome two provocateurs to get discussions started:

Christina Wilkins is a Lecturer in Film and Creative Writing at the University of Birmingham. Her research focuses on identity and culture, primarily in film and literature. She has written about trauma, neurodiversity and mental health, and is currently working on a book about masculinity, suicide, and mental health.

Anna Jamieson is a Lecturer in the History of Art Department, University of London. She is an interdisciplinary art historian specialising in visual and material cultures of the eighteenth and nineteenth century, with a particular interest in the history of psychiatry, women's mental illness, self-care and patient agency. She is currently writing her first book about asylum tourism in late eighteenth and early nineteenth-century England.
