Urgent Business: Centre annual conference 2022

Welcome to our ‘Urgent Business: Getting on the pathway to reach the Global Goals by 2030’ conference page. If you attended, we hope you found the panel discussions, networking and exhibition content insightful and illuminating - you can re-watch here. If you didn't attend and would like more information on the event or to watch any of our panel discussions, read on.

With the climate crisis becoming ever more evident and social inequality at historically high levels, businesses, consumers and governments alike are increasingly recognising the dangers of unsustainable behaviour and the consequences of failing to meet the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. Urgent action is needed.

Our conference featured a series of live panel events, with academic experts and high-profile business leaders from around the world sharing the latest research, tools and best practice to help businesses of all sizes navigate these global challenges and lead responsible change in their organisations, as well as a plenary talk from Professor Ian Thomson – one of the authors of the book, 'Urgent Business: Five Myths Business Needs to Overcome to Save Itself and the Planet'.

We hope these talks inspire you to take action, in your business, university or as a consumer, to help society reach the Global Goals before it's too late.
