A Celebration of Vision Impairment Education

celebrationVision Impairment Centre for Teaching and Research are delighted to invite you to attend a special afternoon on 16 June 2023 to celebrate the contribution made by vision impairment educators.

This event is being organised in conjunction with the IBSA World Games, which are being hosted by University of Birmingham in August 2023. It is being run as a hybrid event to facilitate attendance from across the UK and overseas.

During this event we will explore why the contribution of vision impairment educators is so important and will hear from several young people who will reflect on their educational experience. We will present on the recently launched Curriculum Framework for Children and Young People with Vision Impairment and consider its future role in vision impairment education. We will also recognise the contribution of nominated individuals through the presentation of an award/awards.

Anyone who has an interest in vision impairment education is welcome to attend this event. This will include specialist VI professionals, young people, parents, policy makers, academics, and members of the charity sector.
