Where you see this label next to a property on Housr, you’ll know it’s being rented out by a landlord who is a member of the UoB Approved: Landlord Membership Scheme. You can be confident, knowing they’re part of our recognised and trusted landlord community who adhere to a strict Code of Conduct. Any landlord who is found to not adhere to the Code of Conduct may lose their place in the scheme.
Housing Hand
Create an accountLandlords will ask tenants for a UK-based ‘guarantor’ – often a parent or relative, who will be asked to financially cover the rent if you fail to pay. This can be difficult for some students – especially international students. That’s why the University has partnered with Housing Hand. They act as a UK guarantor for a fee that is calculated according to your rent amount and can be paid in one go or monthly.

What is the UoB Approved: Landlord Membership Scheme and why should I care about it?
The UoB Approved: Landlord Membership Scheme recognises local landlords and letting agents who are positive members of the Birmingham lettings community. Every landlord/agent must adhere to a strict code of conduct, and supply us with all the required legal documents to prove that they’re providing the best homes for our students. Any landlord who doesn’t adhere to our standards will lose their place in the scheme.
