PhD adverts
The Postgraduate Recruitment team looks after advertising of PhD opportunities for projects. We are able to post opportunities on two resources, FindAPhD.com and jobs.ac.uk.
About FindAPhD
The University uses a PhD project database to support the recruitment of doctoral researchers. Doctoral ReSEARCHer (powered by FindAPhD.com) is a web-based tool that allows prospective doctoral researchers to search for available PhD opportunities and supervisors at the University of Birmingham. The site provides an excellent opportunity to promote potential research topics and we would recommend that you ensure your available PhD topics (or more broadly your area of research interest) are listed on this site.
The database incorporates school and centre research profiles, supervisor details, project description, funding information, publication details and enquiry management.
The following can be posted on FindAPhD:
- PhD projects – only one position can be offered per project otherwise extra costs will be incurred.
- PhD programmes – call for proposals with or without funding.
About jobs.ac.uk
Run by the University of Warwick, jobs.ac.uk is the top recruitment site for roles within Higher Education, with listings from UK and worldwide institutions. Most will be familiar with finding professional services vacancies on this website but it is also the biggest database internationally for academic and researcher opportunities, opening recruitment to a larger pool of talent.
The following can be posted on jobs.ac.uk:
- PhD projects – only one position can be offered per project otherwise extra costs will be incurred.
- Funding or studentship opportunity – only one position per funding or studentship per advert otherwise extra costs will be incurred.
