AI and Data Science Masters Scholarships Application Form

A £10,000 scholarship for 2024 entry - over 100 available

The University of Birmingham offered AI and Data Science Masters Scholarships in 2024-2025 for nine Masters programmes to upskill students from under-represented backgrounds to progress into the AI and Data Science workforce.

    Applications are closed

    Applications for the AI and Data Science Scholarship have now closed. The final deadline for the MSc Bioinformatics (Online) March 2025 cohort was Friday 7 February 2025. All applicants for the scholarship will be updated before Friday 28 February 2025.

    As the scholarship funding was provided by the UK Government, we are unable to advise whether the AI and Data Science Scholarship will be open for postgraduate students commencing their studies in 2025 and beyond.

    Other postgraduate scholarships

The scholarship was open to Home students from one of nine under-represented background(s) who intended to study on one of the nine eligible MSc degrees below. This included over 100 students from under-represented groups, and prioritised applicants from under-represented groups, particularly women, Black students, disabled students, and those from low-socioeconomic backgrounds. Successful awardees were supported by a £10,000 cash-payment scholarship as well as additional support.

Due to the high volume of applications, the awards were allocated in three rounds:

  • The deadline for round one applications closed 23:59 (UK time) on Sunday 31 March 2024.
  • The deadline for round two applications closed 23:59 (UK time) on Sunday 30 June 2024.
  • The deadline for round three applications is 23:59 (UK time) on Saturday 31 August 2024.

In addition to the above deadlines, scholarship applications for the March 2025 intake of MSc Bioinformatics (Online) had a deadline of 23:59 (UK time) on Friday 7 February 2025.

If you were unsuccessful in one round, your application would have been automatically carried over to the next round: you did not need to re-apply.
