The oldest society in the Guild of Students, the University of Birmingham Astronomical Society (AstroSoc) plays host to anyone with an interest in astronomy, space and astrophysics. We frequently arrange and host talks by experts from all aspects of astronomical-based backgrounds and, when possible, we invite members to join us in observing the night sky through some of our many telescopes.
The Society also has a passion for outreach work, spreading our enthusiasm for astronomy and our knowledge of astrophysics to members of the public young and old. Our reputation is so strong that we were the first winner's of the Outreach Award at the EPS Societies' Awards back in 2014, and have since won the Continued Excellence in Outreach Award twice!
Visit our Facebook page or uobastrosoc on Twitter and Instagram to find out more, or check out our YouTube channel 'UoB AstroSoc' to watch some of our past events. You can also contact us via email on astrosoc@guild.bham.ac.uk.
