West Midlands Regional Accounts for Clinical Researchers (WMRACR)

Developing the Next Generation of Clinical Research Leaders Across the West Midlands.
West Midlands Regional Accounts for Clinical Researchers (WMRACR) is a partnership programme led by the University of Birmingham and funded by the Medical Research Council (MRC), working with Aston, Keele and Warwick universities to increase the number of clinical academics across the region. We expect to award around 20 individuals over 4 cohorts with this funding.
The awards will support talented post-doctoral clinical professionals (including doctors, nurses, midwives, therapists and pharmacists amongst others) to develop competitive research careers through protected research time, mentorship, training, interdisciplinary collaboration, and access to a vibrant regional research ecosystem. The awards significantly boost your protected research time, whilst remaining with your current employer. They typically fund up to 12 months at 0.5 WTE.
