The Oaks, is an award-winning Selly Oak based nursery, that provides a lively and supportive environment, where children can develop confidence, independence and early skills through play.
A nurturing and safe environment
Our experienced team creates a safe and welcoming space where every child is supported to thrive. We work closely with families to ensure each child’s needs are understood and met. As well as this, every member of staff will be first aid trained shortly after starting with us and our Selly Oak nursery has secure entry by key fob only, with 24-hour CCTV for your peace of mind.
Forest School
At The Oaks, we believe outdoor learning is an essential part of children's development. Designed on one level, every room has direct access to our gardens, allowing children to move freely between indoor and outdoor spaces throughout the day. Our gardens, allotments and dedicated Forest School area provide endless opportunities to explore, be active and connect with nature. Led by Forest School-trained practitioners, children build confidence, resilience and practical skills through hands-on activities, nature discovery and outdoor play.

Here to make life easy for you
We’re open 51 weeks of the year, excluding public holidays and University closed days. Our opening hours are designed to make life easy for you, fitting childcare around your work and other commitments, which is why we offer both full time and part time spaces.

A spacious, open-plan environment designed especially for our youngest children. With plenty of room to explore, play and develop at their own pace, babies benefit from a calm, nurturing space where they can feel secure and supported.

Offers a warm, welcoming environment where children can develop their independence and enjoy learning through play. Children are encouraged to explore, make choices and develop their physical skills through a variety of active indoor and outdoor experiences.

The Bumblebee Room is spacious, colourful and vibrant. Like all our rooms it has direct access to its own garden, so your child can explore, developing their independence in a safe and secure environment. Guided by the care and knowledge of our team, messy and creative activities help your child develop their exploratory thinking and problem-solving skills.
