Birmingham Law School has been ranked 18th in the top 100 law schools in the United Kingdom in the 2017 Complete University Guide rankings, released today. This adds to the Law School’s recent inclusion in the QS Top 100 Law School world rankings to confirm Birmingham as a top destination for those wishing to study law.
These rankings reflect the diverse and excellent teaching that is offered at Birmingham across a range of degree programmes, the world-leading research undertaken by our faculty members, and the excellent reputation we enjoy among employers.
Our undergraduate students have the opportunity to study across a range of specialisms (such as business, criminology, French law, German law, and international law and globalisation) as well as in the general LLB. During their time at Birmingham, students have the opportunity to experience ‘law in action’ through our wide range of pro bono work, mooting, and extensive work placement opportunities. The School also welcomes and supports student initiatives, such as the University of Birmingham Student Law Review and Beyond My Ethnicity.
Welcoming the ranking, Professor Robert Lee, Head of School, said “We are delighted to see confirmation through these rankings of what we and our alumni have long known: that students in BLS are receiving an excellent and stimulating legal education in a leading law school, located in one of the world’s great universities”.
