Principles of Palliative Care for Children and Young People (Online) 20 credits

This interprofessional course will enable practitioners working in palliative care to develop and enhance their knowledge and skills of the nature and scope of palliative care for children and young people. You will explore and examine a range of subjects including grief and loss, cultural issues and interprofessional working and the impact these have on palliative care. You will also be supported in developing your knowledge of professional, legal and ethical issues in this context.

Online supported by tutorials.

Assessments

• An infographic of a development in practice: 50%
• Oral presentation to peers/lecturer and structured Q&A: 50%

20 credits

Applicants will need to demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development that shows an ability to study at Masters level.

This master's level module can be taken as an optional module within the MSc Advanced Clinical Practice. Alternatively, it may be taken within the MSc Advanced Practice in Healthcare or as standalone course or CPD module.

Please note that once registered for the microcredential you cannot swap for the non-credit short course version.

Non-credit short course

The microcredential and the non-credit short course follow the same course structure, the difference between them both is with the non-credit short course you do not take the assessment at the end therefore you will not receive credits but will receive a certificate of completion, this certificate cannot be converted to credits.

Please note if you apply for the non-credit short course, you cannot swap to the microcredential version once registered.
