A day for ultrafast microscopy
- Location
- Small Lecture Theatre 2nd Floor Poynting Building [R13]
- Dates
- Thursday 17 July 2025 (09:30-18:00)
This single-day science and networking event will unite researchers across physics, chemistry, materials science and medicine to explore how ultrafast microscopy is transforming our ability to image and trace events in both space and time.
From quantum tunnelling at the atomic scale and real-space imaging of meta-atoms, to super-resolution imaging of cellular systems, talks will highlight advances across a range of scientific frontiers. The event will also serve to seed ideas for a new interdisciplinary UK network in ultrafast microscopy as well as to look for new opportunities for interdisciplinary and cross-institution research. A dedicated poster session for early-career researchers (ECRs) will provide a platform for emerging voices to share their work and connect with the wider community in the UK.
We will not charge for the event, but to get an idea of numbers please sign up using the registration button above (especially if you would like to present a poster!), before 10th July.
Invited Speakers and Panellists:
- Markus Huber (University of Regensburg)
- Oleg Mitrofanov (University College London)
