The University of Birmingham Observatory has two large telescopes: a Meade LX200R 14 inch telescope for direct imaging work and a 16 inch Cassegrain telescope, used exclusively for charged coupled device spectroscopy.
The telescopes are scheduled for teaching in term time but are available in the vacation for research purposes.
Live weather data is also available from the observatory.
