Birmingham Brain Tumour Network

Brain Tumour Network: Connecting Minds for Greater Impact

The Birmingham Brain Tumour Network brings together researchers, clinicians, patients, and partners across the Midlands to build a collaborative community tackling one of the most complex challenges in cancer. Through interdisciplinary research and strategic partnerships, we aim to accelerate progress, empower future leaders, and translate discoveries into better care and outcomes for those affected by brain tumours.

  • Scale of the problem

Annually 5,800 people are diagnosed with a malignant brain tumour and 6,500 people are diagnosed with a benign brain tumour in the UK.

Brain Cancer accounts for 2% of all cancer, but 7% of cancer deaths.

Despite new developments in treatments and diagnosis, survival has not significantly improved.
