Funding for prospective students

Fees for postgraduate researchers

The University charges an annual tuition fee which covers the cost of your tuition, supervision, assessment and membership to the Guild of Students. Tuition fees are payable at the start of your programme of study and at the beginning of each subsequent academic year.

Research Council funding

The University of Birmingham is in the privileged position of hosting a number of Doctoral Training Partnerships (DTP) and Centres for Doctoral Training (CDT) that are funded by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI). The University Graduate School provides advice to prospective postgraduate researchers interested in Research Council funding and information for current students who are funded by a Research Council.
