BactiVac 2nd Annual Network Meeting

Building on the success of last year’s Inaugural Meeting, the 2nd Annual Network Meeting will be held on 20 & 21 March 2019 and will not only give those attending opportunities to broaden connections within our membership, but also will provide an excellent forum for exchanging ideas and furthering research possibilities.

The Programme

Talks will be delivered by a host of internationally renowned speakers from a range of disciplines, all actively involved in the research area of bacterial vaccinology, with ample opportunities for members to network throughout the event. Download the programme for the meeting. 

The meeting is open to members only and will give invaluable opportunities for networking with other experts in the field of bacterial vaccine development and delivery.  You can apply for free membership here.

Your registration fee covers:

  • Attendance at the conference 20 & 21 March with lunch and refreshments on both days
  • Attendance at the conference dinner on the evening of Wednesday 20 March 2019
  • Overnight accommodation for Wednesday 20 March 2019 only (single occupancy bed and breakfast – standard room)

There is no reduction in fee for less than full attendance.


Your registration covers your accommodation costs (standard room bed and breakfast, single occupancy) for the evening of Wednesday 20 March 2019 only at the venue. Should you require additional nights’ accommodation the venue is offering reduced rates up to 12 midnight (GMT) on 31 January 2019, the BactiVac Network Team will provide you with joining instructions giving information on options for your accommodation requirements.

LMIC Travel Bursaries

The BactiVac Network are offering up to 20 travel bursaries, of up to £1,250 GBP each, to support travel costs of attending our 2nd Annual Network Meeting 20 & 21 March 2019 (to include travel, accommodation, and subsistence).  Applicants must be currently based in an organisation within an LMIC country.  The Network will typically only support one travel bursary from each institution and preference will be given to applicants not previously awarded a BactiVac travel bursary. Grant Writing Workshop - 19 March 2019

BactiVac will be hosting a Grant Writing Workshop on Tuesday 19 March 2019 in conjunction with our 2nd Annual Network Meeting. The Network will be funding 25 places to attend this Workshop (to include attendance at the Workshop with lunch and refreshments, dinner and bed & breakfast accommodation on 19 March). The Workshop will benefit researchers with little or no experience in writing proposals to UK funding bodies, including our catalyst funding calls. Applicants must be members of the BactiVac Network, applications for membership will be processed alongside applications to attend this Workshop. Successful applicants are also expected to register to attend our 2nd Annual Network Meeting 20 & 21 March 2019, as attendance at the Workshop is linked to attendance at the Annual Network Meeting.
