The Centre for Movement and Wellbeing (MoveWell)

At MoveWell, we take a life course approach to research, which focuses on interventions and approaches that help people maintain physical and mental wellbeing throughout their lives from childhood to older age, across good health, illness, injury and disease. The ground-breaking research that takes place in MoveWell will aid the University in its goal of doubling research income by 2030.

We offer a range of excellent facilities that include individual treatment rooms, exercise suites and labs to aid in the development and delivery of ground-breaking research and have a team of highly experienced and skilled staff (Add link to the staff page here) who can work with you to provide guidance and support.

REPOWER

The REPOWER project investigates the role of protein and exercise to maintain muscle mass and function during weight loss in older adults.

We’re recruiting older adults for a study on diet and exercise for metabolic health and body composition during weight loss. Over approximately five weeks, you will be asked to attend six testing visits and 12 exercise sessions at the University of Birmingham.
