October 2023 - March 2024

Receive your offer from Birmingham, and decisions from other universities

Be sure to read through all the information contained in your offer letter, this offer guide and information regarding your student contract.

Read through guidance on funding

Check your eligibility for awards or scholarships and submit an application if appropriate.

Attend an Offer Holder Visit Day

Make sure you take the opportunity to visit The University to help you make your decisions. If you haven’t received them already, details of your invitation will be emailed to you shortly. You will need to book your place and make any necessary arrangements.

6 June 2024

Deadline for you to reply to your offer (in most cases)

In order to accept and secure your place, you must respond to your offer by 6 June 2024. This deadline refers to your acceptance of the offer, not the fulfilment of conditions. Enter firm and insurance choices via UCAS.

21 June 2024

Deadline for you to provide your achieved qualifications and non-academic documents to meet conditions 

This deadline can be extended to 31 August 2024 upon request to Admissions. 

30 June 2024

Deadline to apply for accommodation guarantee scheme for UK students

You should apply for accommodation once you have your offer of a place to study here and within the guarantee deadline of 30 June.

31 July 2024

Deadline to apply for accommodation guarantee scheme for international students

You should apply for accommodation once you have your offer of a place to study here and within the guarantee deadline of 31 July.

Summer 2024

Not taking A levels, BTECs or IB? You will need to send us your exam results

When your examination results are known, please send a certified photocopy confirming this.

Please follow the guidance on your offer letter to ensure you submit the correct documents and complete all the necessary requirements.

15 August 2024

Taking A levels? Receive your exam results and confirm your place at Birmingham.

31 August 2024

This is the final deadline for you to meet your conditions (including if you have gone to appeal).

July - September 2024

Receive your accommodation offer (after you have confirmed your place and met all the conditions of your offer).

International applicants

Apply for your visa (entry clearance) to study in the UK

International students need a visa (entry clearance) to study in the UK. Students requiring a Student Route visa will need to apply before coming to the UK.

Our International Students Team (IST) offers specialist help and advice on a wide range of issues including immigration, finance and family concerns. IST can also help you clarify your tuition fee status and eligibility for student support and part-time work.

Our latest date to issue a CAS for September 2024 starters is 1 September 2024. 

Applicants whose native language is not English

Take and pass an approved English test

Applicants whose native language is not English will need to demonstrate a suitable level of English proficiency. You can provide evidence of this with IELTS/TOEFL/PTE, alternative qualifications or by satisfactorily completing one of the presessional courses run by the Birmingham International Academy.

Applicants whose offer contains an ATAS statement

Applicants for most Medical, Health, Education, Sport Pedagogy and Social Work programmes

Applying for a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is an admission requirement for the above programmes.

Applicants for most Medical, Health and Social work programmes

You will need to provide information about your health for the above programmes.

For Medicine, Dentistry, Physiotherapy, Pharmacy and Nursing courses you will need to compete and return a Health and Immunisation questionnaire.

For Dental Hygiene and Therapy you will be required to complete a Health Declaration form at the start of your course.

For Social Work programmes you will need to complete and submit an online Declaration of Suitability form by 21 June 2024.
