Dr Ridhi Agarwal
Dr Ridhi Agarwal is a Medical Statistician with primary interests in evaluating the diagnostic accuracy of medical tests in clinical trial setting and risk prediction modelling.
Dr Esther Albon
Dr Esther Albon works as a Systematic Reviewer in the BESaTE team conducting evidence syntheses, systematic reviews, meta-analysis and health technology assessments (HTA) to aid decision making within local and national healthcare.
Dr Lucinda Archer
Dr Lucinda Archer's research focuses on prediction modelling research, both prognostic and diagnostic, with a particular interest in statistical methods development and improving methodological quality of published research.
Dr Simon Baldwin
Dr Simon Baldwin is a Medical Statistician with expertise in test evaluation, biological variability, longitudinal modelling, and routine data. His work is funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Birmingham Biomedical Research Centre (BRC), under the Data, Diagnostics and Decision Tools programme of work.

Prof Gary Collins
Professor Gary Collins is a 125th Anniversary Chair and Professor of Medical Statistics. He is a NIHR Senior Investigator. His research interests are primarily focused on methodological aspects in the development and fair evaluation of clinical prediction models His other research interests lie in improving the transparency, openness and quality of health research, where he leads the EQUATOR Network activities in the UK.

Dr Clare Davenport is a Consultant in Public Health specialising in methods for undertaking systematic reviews of test accuracy, methods for development of evidence based testing policy and the process of diagnostic decision making.

Professor Jon Deeks is Professor of Biostatistics and leads the Biostatistics, Evidence Synthesis and Test Evaluation Research Group in the Department of Applied Health Sciences.

Dr Claudio Fronterre
Dr Claudio Fronterre is a Statistical Scientist specialising in spatial and spatio-temporal modelling for global health, with a particular focus on neglected tropical diseases and other health challenges in low-resource settings. Claudio’s research develops geostatistical methods to improve disease surveillance, map burden, and support programmatic decision-making.

Prof Emanuele Georgi
Professor Emanuele Giorgi is a 125th Anniversary Chair and Professor of Statistical Science. He is a NIHR Senior Investigator. research focuses on developing and applying statistical and geostatistical methods to address global public health challenges, with a particular emphasis on infectious and neglected tropical diseases (NTDs). He leads research that bridges statistical methodology development, implementation in open-source software, and application to global public health problems.

Beth Hillier
Beth Hillier is a Medical Statistician based in the Biostatistics, Evidence Synthesis, Test Evaluation And prediction Modelling (BESTEAM) team. Her research interests primarily lie within diagnostic test evaluation, and her work is funded by the NIHR Birmingham BRC.
Dr Amardeep Legha
Dr Amardeep Legha is a Research Fellow based in the Biostatistics, Evidence Synthesis, Test Evaluation and Modelling (BESTEAM) team at the University of Birmingham where his main focus is on prediction modelling methodology projects with an application to machine learning.

Dr James Martin is a Medical Statistician specialising in designing and analysing cluster randomised trials and statistical lead of the Research Support Service Birmingham Hub.

Dr David Moore is an Associate Professor specialising in directing multidisciplinary teams of researchers undertaking systematic reviews, health technology assessments and associated research.

Professor Richard Riley
Professor Richard Riley is a Professor of Biostatistics at the University of Birmingham, leading a team of statisticians undertaking applied and methodology research for healthcare, especially in regard to prognosis, prediction models, and evidence synthesis.
Miss Katie Scandrett
Miss Katie Scandrett is a NIHR Pre-Doctoral Fellow and a member of the test evaluation research group. Last year she completed an MSc in Medical Statistics.

Professor Alice Sitch is a Medical Statistician specialising in designing and evaluating monitoring tests and studies of biological variability.
Dr Kym Snell
Dr Kym Snell is an Associate Professor in Biostatistics. Kym’s interest is in applied and methodology research relating to risk prediction models. Kym also leads the 3-day CPD course “Statistical Methods for Risk Prediction and Prognostic Models” and is an associate editor for the BMC Journal Diagnostic and Prognostic Research.

Professor Yemisi Takwoingi is a Biostatistician with primary interests in systematic review methodology, especially meta-analyses of diagnostic test accuracy studies, and applied health research projects related to diagnostic test evaluation.

Dr Rebecca Whittle
Dr Rebecca Whittle is a Medical Statistician. Becky’s main research interests lie in prognosis and prediction, with a focus on improving the reporting and development of prediction modelling, she has also been involved in many Department of Applied Health Sciences projects, mainly using large data from electronic health records.
