Mzwanele Ntshwanti

Mzwanele is a lecturer at the University of South Africa (UNISA) and Ph.D. (Economics) candidate at the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom. Mzwanele began lecturing at the age of 23 at Wits University, School of Economics and Finance (SEF). He also lectured at Milpark Education, a distance-online business school in Johannesburg, South Africa. He does external work with the South African Student Solidarity Foundation for Education (SASSFE), a not-for-profit organization aimed at advocating for equitable access and success in Higher Education.

He also does work for Rethinking Economics International, advocating for curriculum transformation in economics and accountancy. He has served in various committees on education, social justice, climate change, youth empowerment, and technological innovation. He has been a guest speaker and participant in South African and International conferences and seminars including NEDLAC, Forum for Global Challenges and British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA).

He has published in academic journals and penned opinion pieces on contemporary socioeconomic dialogues. He holds a BSc (Financial mathematics), Bachelor of Economic Science with Honours and MSc (Economic Science) all from Wits University and currently enrolled for a Ph.D. (Economics) at the University of Birmingham, UK. His areas of research interest include international economics (trade and finance), open macroeconomic dynamics, monetary and fiscal policy, and education policy (funding and curriculum).
