Top Management Team (TMT) cognitive and affective trust, psychological safety, and corporate entrepreneurship

Top Management Teams’ (TMT) being the upper echelons of every organisation, play a key role in driving optimal decision-making strategies to achieve business survival and growth. The cognitive (judgemental perceptions) and affective (emotional attachments) trust relationships among TMTs is therefore very crucial in improving knowledge-sharing, commitment, and cooperation to drive strategic goals.  The purpose of the research is to examine how and in what ways TMT cognitive and affective trust interactions influence the pursuit of corporate entrepreneurship within established firms. The study further explores the mediating role of TMT psychological safety and the contingent role of TMT social integration and CEO tenure to understand the relationship between TMT cognitive and affective trust and corporate entrepreneurship. The study's results are anticipated to address the longstanding research gap in the field of Top Management Team (TMT) studies concerning the influence of cognitive and affective trust on corporate entrepreneurship, specifically by examining their impact through psychological safety.
