Research

My research focuses on ‘progressive’ Pentecostalism and its impact on systemic injustice in the UK. I am interested in whether congregations can go beyond charity to challenge the root causes of inequality. My initial question addresses whether critical consciousness forms part of a Pentecostal worldview. I then go on to consider what role a theology of hope has to play in motivating a vision and fulfilment of the common good. I continue by looking at how Pentecostals understand and use power to create social and political change.
