Research Overview

By using a combination of theories (human capital theory, non-pecuniary theory, occupational segregation, family wage theory, and patriarchal theory), I will examine the factors affecting the gender pay gap between men and women in Saudi Arabia, which gender inequality still exist particularly in workplace wherein Saudi working women in the private sector earn only 56% as much as men earn, putting the Kingdom in the 107th place in terms of gender pay gap worldwide.

Short Biography

An enthusiastic, adaptive and fast-learning  with a broad and acute interest in social justice issues, especially equality of opportunity and gender pay gap in the Saudi Arabian context., I have developed many skills including problem solving, argumentation/reasoning, and data analysis skills but also, crucially, as I have studied an MSc in the UK that has provided me with valuable experience in developing other skills, such as: organisational and communication/presentation skills; as well as the ability to meet deadlines, and work effectively both as a team member and independently.

 

Teaching responsibilities

  • Reviewing material with students one-on-one or in small groups.
  • Helping teachers with recordkeeping, tracking student attendance and calculating their grades.

  • Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) Level 3 Certificate in Human Resources Practice.
