Modules for study abroad and exchange students
Main fields of study
- Chemical Engineering
Please note that one semester only students joining us in September 2025 will be able to take courses from Chemical Engineering but these courses will not have a summative assessment and students will only be given a nominal mark (pass grade).
For the full-year and Spring semester only students, these courses will have a summative assessment and those students will be able to achieve a grade/mark for the courses.

- Chemistry
Please note that one semester only students joining us in September 2025 will be able to take courses from Chemistry but the courses will not have an alternative assessment and the students will complete the summative assessment during the January or May/June assessment periods in Birmingham or they will be invigilated on the same date/time at the home university.
There is no change for these courses for full-year and Spring semester only students.

- Engineering

- Mathematics
The School of Mathematics only accepts exchange students coming for the full year.
The modules taken will have a summative assessment in the May/June exam period and students will be able to achieve a grade/mark for the courses from these assessments.
For students that have been accepted by another school, there are some Mathematics modules available for Semester 2 only students to take. These modules will have a summative assessment in the May/June exam period that has to be taken to achieve a grade/mark in the module.
