Joint University of Birmingham - CAPES scholarships
Funding allocations for 2016 have not yet been confirmed
Typically there are 5 awards available. Successful applicants will have their tuition and bench fees waived by the University for 3 years (36 months)
A living allowance will be provided by the Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES), including a return international airfare. Details can be found in the terms and conditions set out by CAPES.
The awards are available to students in any subject area available at the University of Birmingham.
- Candidates will be citizens and permanent residents of Brazil at the time of application
- Candidates must not be currently working or studying abroad
- Candidates must hold an offer from the University of Birmingham to be eligible for a scholarship; they must therefore fulfil the relevant academic and English language proficiency entry requirements
- Candidates should have an approved proposed study topic. To help find a supervisor at the University, please use our Doctoral Researcher Enquiry Service.

However, all applicants must apply to the University of Birmingham for the offer of an academic place. Applicants should apply as soon as possible using the online application portal.
Candidates will only be considered for the award where they have been selected by CAPES and are in receipt of an offer from the University of Birmingham.
